Hoist the Colors!

Mon Aug 3, 2009, 2:06 PM
I'll get right to the point.
I'm trying to make a bracelet based on European flags. Normally this would be a very exciting project I would never leave until I was finished, but I have a problem.

First, I only have six colors. They are, and I follow the specific name on the label, Matte Transparent Green, Matte White, Opaque Orange, Opaque Dark Blue, Matte Opaque Vermillion Red, and Black. (Seriously.) This normally would not be a problem, because I just love to throw money at people for beads, but these are 11/0 Delica beads, and they're strangely difficult to find around here. I got these in a DIFFERENT STATE.

Secondly, and most important, I need flags. Right now I have the Union Jack for the United Kingdom made, but that's it. I need at least eight flags total to make this thing long enough for a bracelet.

So, this is where you guys come in. I'm looking for some input from my friends and watchers. I want the "big" countries of Europe, or at least ones that most people know about and could be easily recognized. I have the Union Jack, and somewhere in this thing I know I'm going to have Italy, Germany, and France. (I need yellow beads.)Possibly Spain and Greece. So, I need to find at least four more flags, or find a way to repeat those. I'd like to have more. Or if your flags were going to be Spain and Greece, just say, "Yeah, Spain and Greece!" and two others.

Basically, if you want to contribute, just send me the names of current European nations you'd like to see. Please consider what their flag looks like when you do. The only thing I ask is that they don't have an overly complicated crest (like Croatia or Malta) or something on them- I had to find a template for the Union Jack, and I'm not experienced enough in this stitch to create really complicated templates of my own yet. Colors won't be such a big problem; I need to get yellow anyway, so I'll just find a way to order that and get whatever others I need then, too.

<3 <3 So, thanks to everyone who contributes! I appreciate your support! <3 <3

Well, with the way this place works, you might not know until August! I didn't know about my own schedule that we decided on in March until then. Soo...have a good idea before then, since you may have to choose on a dime.
:iconthefutureempress:
That's a bit better
damn you and your logic!
i still dn't know what i should do
good thing i have til summer to decide
:icontisuna:
I'm sorry- it was so long, I forgot to put on; "You can figure out the other parts of your decision now, but whatever ends up happening will probably play a big part, so I'd keep an open mind and be flexible, since the situation will likely change."
:iconthefutureempress:
You know, that really doesn't help my dilemma.
:icontisuna:
I've just gotten tired of running my mouth about it. I'll be happier if I just ignore it and focus on getting my own book out.
You should look deep inside yourself for your inner Viki--just kidding. Let's see...
We've finally built the new high school, Woodgrove, and it should be ready for students next year. So, under normal circumstance, it would actually depend on where you move to around here to figure out if you actually go to Valley. However, as usual, we do not have normal circumstances; since all of the potential seniors for Woodgrove are juniors at Valley, they are being given a choice to stay here. (I'm not sure what the deal is for Valley's sophomores.)As a new student with no supposed previous loyalty- unless you can manage to get paperwork through fast enough to show you ARE a past Valley student (HAHAHA- GOOD LUCK)- they'll probably put you in whatever borderlines you fall in.
Again, HOWEVER, it's looking unlikely that there will be enough interested juniors to make a worthwhile senior class at Woodgrove. If that turns out to be the case, they will not want to pay for all the teachers necessary to offer all the classes that were available at Valley for so few students, and it won't make sense for them to bus all the kids back and forth from Valley to take the classes they can't offer. SO they'll just continue to cram all the seniors in Valley and give the upcoming juniors two years of Top Dog at Woodgrove. The only thing that will get better for OUR last year will be fewer people in the halls, though since we'll have freshmen, that probably won't make much of a difference. Just my luck. -.-
I would continue to be at Valley anyways, so it doesn't matter.
:iconthefutureempress:
You know, you're way too mature sometimes.
I can't wait for the day to come when people finally shut up about it though.
:D
I've been thinking lately
I might come to Valley for my senior year
I don't know what i'm doing
but half my friends are leaving me (they HAD to go and be seniors!), i can't deal with my mom for another year, and college would be in-state (i.e- CHEAP-er), i could get a job, and chill with you
on the other hand, i love my friends and my school, don't want to uproot my life again, i hate the majority of the people there(preps), and i wouldn't have high speed.
I honestly don't know what to do.
I have til summer to decide, but you know me
i like to plan ahead, and it's not smething i'd leave up to chance.
what do you think?
and please don't tell me to follow my heart or some bullshit like that.
:P
:icontisuna:
Yeah, I saw that. And it's true. But I'm trying to teach myself to just not talk about it, since I'm ruining the fun of all my friends and family who like it, and that's not nice. I've been rather silly, making a big fuss about how much I dislike it, when it will soon be gone and dead anyway.
:iconthefutureempress:
OMG! This is the greatest thing ever!-

:icontisuna:
Why must you ask me the one question I've managed to escape so far?! Ugh! Friends, family, my house, food, books, my computer, the Internet, all my beads- I can't talk now, there's a Black Friday sale at the Bead Artist in Leesburg- Cia~ooo.
:iconthefutureempress:
:P
Happy Thanksgiving!
What are you thankful for?
I'm thankful for my cat Loki and all his awesomeness!
